Parents, daughters, relatives and friends will say goodbye today to Georgia, the 41-year-old pregnant Albanian woman who was tragically killed by her partner with a knife.
The event happened on New Year's Eve, while the 39-year-old was helped by his 34-year-old friend. Her 13-year-old daughter will never see her mother again, and is apparently trying to understand why 39-year-old Akis and another man deprived her of her most precious possession.
The last act of the drama will take place at 11:00 in a church in the area of Ai Giannis in Kalamaria, Thessaloniki.
Meanwhile, the two defendants have been charged with murder, termination of pregnancy and robbery, as well as possession of weapons without a permit and illegal use, while after the deadline they received yesterday, they are expected to apologize to the investigator on Saturday morning.
"I have nothing to do with the murder, I know nothing. I was at home and I was sleeping. I have no involvement and apparently my friend did everything since he also showed the place where the corpse was", says the 39-year-old partner of the unfortunate Georgia, who is accused of committing the brutal murder in Thessaloniki together with his accomplice.
According to the defense lawyer of the 39-year-old, Othona Papadopoulos, the defendant denies his involvement in the murder, asserts that he had no involvement and that he had no knowledge of her death. According to the information, the 39-year-old has a total of 45 files against him for various cases, including beatings, domestic violence and a charge of raping his sister.
For his part, the second defendant, 34 years old, claims that he knew nothing about the act of murder and that his goal that night was to rob the victim.
"He had no other motive, much less murderous intent. First he participated in neutralizing the woman and then, after a nod from her partner, he headed downstairs where he stayed for a while. After that, his friend came down from the apartment and informed him that the woman is dead", said his lawyer.
The 34-year-old claims that as long as he was present in the apartment, the unfortunate woman was alive and motionless, while he admits that he participated in the process of transporting the body to the forest area of Thessaloniki.
"The 39-year-old assured me that the woman would not suffer anything. Then, as soon as he was informed by his friend that the woman had died, he wanted to stop this act and go to the police, but the 39-year-old stopped him and even threatened that he would suffer the same fate as the woman", said the lawyer.
