The director of Rrogozhina prison, Bilal Hasa, was released today after surrendering to the police yesterday.
Bilal Hasa turned himself in after it was reported that he was the owner of a building adapted as a "barn house" discovered in Peqin.
After surrendering, he denied the allegations raised in the police report, stating that his brother, Romario Hasa, is in charge of the apartment.
It is learned that he claimed that he had not been to that facility for several months and had no knowledge of what might have been practiced there.
Meanwhile, his brother and a senior official from OSHEE have been declared wanted, both suspected of involvement in this case.
Further investigations continue to identify all persons involved and uncover the drug cultivation network.
Yesterday, around 4,000 cannabis plants were seized in two warehouses in the village of Kurtaj in the Gjocaj administrative unit of Peqin.
When police forces intervened, no one was found inside the premises. However, the warehouses turned out to be owned by the director of the Rrogozhina prison, Bilal Hasa.
After the incident, he was declared wanted and suspended from duty by the General Directorate of Prisons. He later surrendered.
