Gazmir Preçi was handcuffed on the evening of August 15, in the Kinostudio area, because according to the Police Surveillance Agency (AMP), he had asked a businessman for 20,000 euros in order not to close his activity.
A few days ago, Gazmir Preçi appeared at a nightclub, near the Dajlan Bridge, where he met the owner and told him that there were some girls who were working unregistered.
Then the anti-trafficking chief sent a sex worker to the businessman to ask him for 20,000 euros so that no action would be taken. The owner of the night club, under these conditions, addressed the directorate of AMP making a complaint, while the latter referred the case to SPAK.
The agents of AMP and BKH have taken an amount of 10 thousand euros with registered serial numbers and given it to the owner who was blackmailed for giving property.
The latter has communicated with Gazmir Preçi, telling him that he does not need a realtor, but he would hand over the money to him himself. While they had a meeting in the Kinostudio area in Tirana, the owner of the night club was equipped with cameras and eavesdroppers.
Meanwhile, AMP agents have been placed in the premises where they would meet. As soon as they met, the owner of the bar gave the money to Gazmir Preçi and then AMP agents intervened and arrested him in the act.
The head of the anti-trafficking and drug sector in the Durrës police, Chief Commissioner Gazmir Preçi, who was arrested after the investigations carried out by SPAK and AMP, is not the first time he faces serious charges.
In 2021, when this police officer held the post of Crime Chief in Mallakastra, he was arrested along with 4 other policemen from Fier, after they were suspected of being involved in the cultivation of cannabis. The case was closed and Gazmir Preçi was appointed in Durrës as head of the department for narcotics.
For this case, a reaction has also come from the Minister of the Interior, Ervin Hoxha, who says that any policeman who violates the law will receive the harshest punishment. Now the investigations have been extended by SPAK and AMP to other cases where it is suspected that Gazmir Preçi has asked for money.
