The former mayor of Kukës, Safet Gjici, was arrested today by the police. In the context of the investigations launched after the publication of the sexual video a few days ago, SPAK has filed charges of corruption against him.
Gjici was filmed having intimate relations with a girl, but after the full video was published, it turned out that the 40-year-old woman would in return receive the tender for the management of street dogs in Kukës.
SPAK is known to have verified the documents and asked employees of the Municipality of Kukës. In the end, it was established that he abused his office and the charge of "passive corruption" provided by Article 260 of the Criminal Code was raised.
According to information, his arrest was made in Tirana, near the "German Villas" area. Gjici was drinking coffee in a bar when the arrest warrant was communicated to him.
The video was filmed by the girl herself, who until now is known as Alma.K. She was also interrogated by SPAK, where she gave her explanations about what her relationship with Gjici was.
Initially, a short sequence appeared in the media, where Gjici and the girl performed oral sex. But then the full video was published and after the act the girl and the former mayor have a conversation about a tender. The girl had offered a project for the management, housing and sterilization of street dogs. Gjici passes her project on to his subordinates and it seems to be guaranteed that it will be approved. In fact, the project was never signed and it is suspected that this was the reason the video was released. However, SPAK claims that we are under conditions of abuse of office.
