The court of Durrës has put the driver Indrit Uka under "house arrest" who killed 22-year-old Erisa Aliaj.
Today, a hearing was held near the Court of First Instance of the Durrës Judicial District, where the personal security measure "house arrest" was set for the 24-year-old.
Indrit Uka was accused of "violation of traffic rules" after speeding caused the death of 22-year-old Erisa Aliaj on Tuesday evening.
The young woman who had a fatal accident had just returned from work at a fashion store and had gone to buy food in a neighborhood market.
After finishing shopping at the market, she went out to cross the road to her apartment, she did not cross the white lines, but approximately 100 meters below them, where she had an accident.
Uka stated to the police that the traffic light was open for cars to pass and she spun the tires quickly to continue on the road, while she did not see the girl who immediately left the sidewalk and did not have the opportunity to brake.
The permitted speed in this area is 40 km/h, while the road is equipped with traffic lights, lighting and the relevant signage.
Because the road has maple trees, with considerable height, in different areas the lighting from the poles is blocked by the greenery and at night it becomes difficult to distinguish the movements of pedestrians in this segment.
Erisa Aliaj, originally from Tropoja, in addition to her studies, was also employed and was returning from work when she was hit by a car.
