The Special Court Against Corruption and Organized Crime has set the security measure "arrest in prison" for Leonard Duka.
The head of the clan is accused of murdering ex-policeman Santiago Malko on August 27, 2019. Likewise, the second security measure concerns the provision of conditions to carry out the murder of Erigers Mihas and Ervis Martinaj.
During the session with closed doors, Leonard Duka refused to give any explanation.
He is known as the head of the 'Duke Clan', the criminal group that has had an ongoing conflict with Ervis Martinaj's group.
Who is Leonard Duke?
The Duke's name is well known to the judiciary, but also to the Albanian public.
He was arrested in 2019 by a super operation for the fight against drug trafficking. He was also wanted for a failed assassination attempt before.
The "Duka" group has been filed as a structured Albanian-German drug trafficking group. But for the media, the Duke is also known as the lover of Miss, Trejsi Sejdini. Although he has tried to keep this love story a secret, the media, including the international ones, seem to have mentioned the name of the 20-year-old.
Duke's enmity with Ervis Martinaj has attracted the most attention. Ervis Martinaj, who has been one of the biggest gambling bosses in Albania, circulating tens of millions of euros as well as a major investor in the construction sector, had become the most expensive 'prey' of his rivals, "Klani Duka" has often been mentioned for this 'prey'.
Since 2019, several assassination attempts have been planned and attempted against him, but in all cases he has been able to escape thanks to personal intuition, but more as a man who has first-hand information from within the police and the criminal organizations themselves that seek its elimination.
Former policeman Santiago Malko, Fabian Gaxha, Erigers Mihasi, first cousin Brilant Martinaj (and 2 others in the Fushë Kruja assassination; while in Milot a few days later Klisman Preçi was killed and Martinaj's right arm, Ylli Brahimi, was seriously injured ... are the people who have been attacked and eliminated.
