While carrying out investigations for the verification of the assets, against the three Merkaj brothers from Berat, who are closely related to Franc Çopjan, SPAK has discovered a series of contracts dealing with sales-purchases, leases, order contracts and amended contracts with persons of different in Tirana and beyond.
The months-long investigations launched against the brothers Astrit Merkaj, Endri Merkaj, Klajdi Merkaj, have revealed dozens of luxurious properties that extend to Tirana, Berat, and up to the coastline of Saranda, where the Merkaj brothers own a pasture.
The journalist of "Ora News", Elton Qyno, has learned that among the contracts that are in the SPAK file, there is also the one signed between Endri Merkaj and the businessman convicted of theft in Belgium, Elman Abule, put under investigation by the prosecutor's office. Tirana together with Kristjan Bočin.
Both of these people are close relatives of the drug trafficker, Eldi Dizdari alias Denis Matoshi, who lives in Dubai.
On the other hand, the Merkaj brothers from Berat are closely related to the Çopja brothers from Elbasan, but residing in Dubai, recently announced as wanted by the SPAK Special Prosecutor's Office, for a series of murders and attempts to commit crimes.
Between Abules and Merkaj, on December 21, 2021, an order contract was signed for the purchase of an object called "Vila Single A2" with a construction area of 334 m2, while the total area of the plot is 550 m2.
The super villa is located in the luxury complex "Mandarine Drive", this residence was built by the construction company "Merkaj 3". The villa was bought by Elman Abule, for the amount of 480 thousand euros.
The investigation revealed that 1 day after signing the contract, on December 22, 2021, Elman Abule paid cash to the account of the company "Merkaj 3" amounting to 100 thousand euros. For this amount of euros, the prosecution has not been able to provide documents for the source of income, which served for the payment of the first installment of 100 thousand euros.
While the payments continued on February 21, 2022, where Elman Abule, through his company "Rametal", poured the amount of 200 thousand euros into the account of the three Merkaj brothers.
Payments continued on August 10 with 30,000 euros. On August 11 with 40 thousand euros and on August 16 with the payment of 30 thousand euros. All three of these payments were made through the account of the "Rametal" company.
While on September 20, 2022, Elman Abule paid 80 thousand euros, thus fulfilling the amount of 480 thousand euros for the purchase of "Vila Single A2" in the luxury complex "Mandarine Drive".
Meanwhile, another luxury villa called "Big Tëin" with a total area of 171 m2, Elman Abule and his wife, Marisa Nito, bought it against the value of 370 thousand euros in the luxury complex "Green Coast".
Another villa, the couple Abule and Nito, bought against a value of 170 thousand euros in the area of "Kodra e Diellit" built by the private company "Agi Kons".
Marisa Nito bought two apartments and a parking lot in the "Garden Building" residence./Oranews
