The Police Supervision Agency has arrested an officer of the border police in Shkodër, with the duty of Controller at the Hani i Hoti Border Crossing Point, on the charge of misuse of duty and passive corruption.
The border police officer allegedly did not stop a Montenegrin citizen who, during the verification at the checkpoint, was wanted by Interpol. Investigations are also ongoing to find out if there are other officers involved in this case.
" The Police Supervision Agency (Shkodër - Lezhë Region) has executed the arrest order of the police officer Inspector PQ, with the duty of Controller at the Hani i Hoti Border Crossing Point, suspected of the criminal offenses of "Abuse of duty" and "Passive corruption of persons exercising public functions".
The investigation showed that the police officer did not take measures to arrest a Montenegrin citizen, who, during the verification at the checkpoint, was wanted by Interpol.
"Investigations continue for the full investigation and the possible involvement of other employees in this event", announces AMP.
