Saranda Police have executed the court's decision to arrest Klementin Islamaj, a resident of the village of Shala, Konispol municipality.
The First Instance Court of General Jurisdiction of Saranda has sentenced the 43-year-old to 3 years and 4 months in prison for the criminal offense of "Murder committed in a state of severe psychological shock."
The serious incident dates back to August 10, 2024, in the Islamaj family in Shala, where, according to investigations, 69-year-old Hysen Islamaj, Klementini's father, had killed his wife, 66-year-old Shano Islamaj. He had then threatened and attacked his son as well.
According to the testimony given by Klementin Islamaj himself at the time of the incident, he was confronted with a serious scene in the apartment, where he found his mother seriously injured and his father who had attacked him. In a serious psychological state and afraid for the fate of his children, he reacted by hitting his father with punches and kicks.
He confessed two years ago that he had tried to help his father and had requested an ambulance, while his mother died moments later.
Although under indictment, Islamaj's family and villagers expressed solidarity and support. He was even allowed by the police to attend the funeral ceremony. According to the testimony, it was 69-year-old Hysen Islamaj who, after killing 66-year-old Shano Islamaj, threatened and then shot his son.
"The part of the floor where my mother's body was was covered in a lot of blood. At this moment, I saw my father Hysen Islamaj come into the hallway from the kitchen of the apartment, holding a transparent glass glass in his right hand, and as soon as he stood in front of me, I spoke to him, telling him "what he had done" and he replied: "I did what I wanted, now it's your turn" and immediately after these words, he hit me with the glass he was holding in his hand in the face and nose, but without letting go of the glass. At this moment, not seeing the children there, I was scared that the same thing could have happened to the children," Islamaj's testimony states.
Almost two years after the incident, the 43-year-old is in a serious mental state. In the meantime, with the execution of the court's decision, he will serve the sentence given for this serious family matter.
