The father of the 8-year-old who survived the tragic accident two days ago in the former Kënetë area of Durrës has revealed the condition of his son, who is in a hospital in Tirana.
In an interview for the show "With an Open Heart", he revealed that his son suffered injuries to his pelvis, legs, and lungs.
The father stressed that the 8-year-old is looking for his friends and that he thinks they are alive. Regarding the moment of the accident, he added that his son has indicated that he does not remember anything but the driver who was driving at high speed.
"I took the boy and left for Tirana because the Durrës hospital sent me to Tirana. The boy was communicating, but he was looking for his friends... while the fourth child was not hit by the car, he survived, he was on the side of the bike... they took the boy out of intensive care and put him in a room by himself... He is very serious. He only asked about his cousin, was he killed like me...
I showed him a photo of the person they had arrested, he remembered it. That's all he remembered. He suffered damage to his pelvis, which is broken, and to his leg. They also put a spear in him, he also had damage to his lungs... He didn't remember anything, he just said the car was very fast... The gentleman's sister is next to the boy now," he said.
As for the author, the 8-year-old's father said he has always had a problem with both speeding and alcohol.
"He has always been problematic, we have always made reports to the police. He has always been problematic with speed, but also with alcohol," emphasized the 8-year-old's father.
He also addressed the public apologies made by the family members of the perpetrator of the tragic accident, stating: "I don't need an apology."
