Today's hearing for the "Golden Bullet" case was accompanied by tensions and direct clashes between the defense and the panel of judges at the GJKKO. At the center of the debate was the lawyers' request to change the panel that is reviewing the case.
Lawyer Elda Zotaj, who represents Altin Ndocin, requested the judges to be disqualified, arguing that her procedural requests were not being considered. She particularly insisted on calling witnesses who, according to her, could influence the outcome of the case in favor of the defendant.
"We will address the Supreme Court and other institutions, as the law is being violated and the duty is being abused," the lawyer declared.
The debate between the parties escalated to the point that the lawyer decided to leave the courtroom. Under these conditions, the trial panel decided to continue the process by assigning a lawyer to ensure the defendant's defense.
At the same hearing, the defense presented several witnesses. Among them was Genta Gosa, who testified about the 2019 incident in Peqin, where Andi Zylyfi was killed.
She denied any connection between her husband and the incident, stressing that there were no conflicts between the families. "Relations have been good and without problems," said Genta Gosa.
Altin Ndoci is considered a high-risk person, especially after his escape from the Durrës regional hospital in January of this year. His trial is part of the file known as the "Golden Bullet", one of the most closely followed cases in special justice.
