A fight occurred between two people in Cërrik that later escalated to the use of a knife.
According to police, the incident occurred after a brief conflict and a 24-year-old attempted to stab a 37-year-old man.
Meanwhile, the perpetrator has been arrested by the police, while the 37-year-old who was injured has received medical treatment and is out of danger. The 37-year-old has also been released on bail after a baseball bat was found in his vehicle.
"During a momentary conflict, he attempted to kill a 37-year-old man with a cutting tool (knife). The perpetrator was arrested immediately after the incident. The injured man, who is out of danger to his life, is being processed at large, as he was carrying a baseball bat in the vehicle. The cutting tool, as well as the baseball bat and the 37-year-old's vehicle, were seized."
Immediately after the notification of an injury with a cutting tool in the village of Gjyrala, the services of the Cërrik Police Commissariat organized the work and went to the scene to arrest the perpetrator and clarify the circumstances of the case.
As a result of the rapid intervention and professional police actions, the suspected perpetrator of the incident, citizen U. Ll., 24 years old, resident of Cërrik, was arrested and put in handcuffs immediately after the incident. He is suspected of having attempted to kill citizen S. Rr., 37 years old, with a knife during a momentary conflict, for weak motives. The injured person is currently under the care of doctors and is out of danger to his life. The procedural materials were referred to the Elbasan Prosecutor's Office for further action," the police announced.
