The Special Court has sentenced the accused of the failed attempt on Xhevdet Plaku.
Ramazan Rapi (alias Kep Arapi), is reduced to 1/3 (one third) of the sentence given, being finally sentenced to 5 (five) years of imprisonment.
-Algert Hamdi Rapi is reduced to 1/3 (one third) of the sentence given, finally being sentenced to 4 (four) years and 8 (eight) months of imprisonment.
- Dedan Ndue Gjoni, reduced to 1/3 (one third) of the sentence given, finally being sentenced to 4 (four) years and 8 (eight) months of imprisonment
-Dejvi Llazi Gjermëni, 1/3 (one third) of the given sentence is reduced, being finally sentenced to 4 (four) years and 8 (eight) months of imprisonment.
Xhevdet Plaku, the 42-year-old who was ambushed by Dedan Gjoni and Rexhep Arapi, is known as the head of a criminal drug trafficking group in Italy. The narcotic substance, cocaine, was imported from Belgium and the Netherlands. In this activity, according to the Italian police, he used 25 different identities to avoid being caught by controls and led the organization through the many trips he made to Amsterdam.
The gang divided the drug packages based on quality and according to them they also had names, according to the brands of the world of luxury. The purest cocaine was "Hermes", then there was "Lacoste", "G4", "Rolls Royce" and "Play Boy".
The old man was also convicted for a murder committed many years ago in Durrës. He was also accused of another murder, for which he was found not guilty.
According to the decision of the Court of Durrës, on June 24, 2003, in Neighborhood No. 15, in the area of Spitalla, Xhevdet Plaku killed citizen Saimir Sina with a firearm.
The perpetrator and the victim were residents of the same neighborhood and were friends with each other. Since Xhevdet Plaku was an immigrant in Italy, Saimir Sina was aware of the fact that he had a girlfriend, the citizen Nertila K. And, taking advantage of his personal acquaintance with this girl, he proposed to take her illegally to Italy , with the intention of joining her lover.
