Drug trafficking from Albania to Italy, the Italian anti-mafia and SPAK dismantle the criminal gang; 19 arrest warrants are issued

Today, 19 arrest warrants were issued for a criminal group that trafficked drugs from Albania to Italy...

A powerful organization that dealt with drug trafficking from Albania to Italy, has been hit as a result of coordinated investigations between SPAK, Eurojust and the Italian Antimafia that started in 2017.

After the decision approved by the Supreme Court, 19 arrest warrants were issued today, while some of those arrested in Italy were finally sentenced to 11 years and 6 months in prison for international drug trafficking.

These structures made it possible to dismantle a powerful transnational criminal organization of drug traffickers operating in the Bar area.

The criminal group, according to the accusations, had branches beyond the Albanian territory, in Apulia and Basilicata, and was composed of Italians and Albanians.

We remind you that earlier, as part of this group, 27 people were arrested, while over 3.3 tons of drugs were seized, including marijuana, cocaine and heroin.
