A 12-year-old girl, after a visit to the Korça hospital, was found to be 22 weeks pregnant. The minor admitted that she was forcibly sexually abused by an elderly man who was a family acquaintance of hers.
Police have arrested Rrushan Selko, 67, as a suspected perpetrator of abuse of a minor. His relatives say that the 67-year-old is a father of four children, and has even become a grandfather, but that they have no knowledge of the case.
"I know him as a good man. I don't know anything at all, what he has, that I know. I haven't heard anything. When the police came, I took them up there and ran away. I know the girl, she's a child. The relationship between the two families is very good. They come and go. They are neighbors. Rrushani is a pensioner, he stays at home. We don't know anything at all, now we found out. We've never heard of him. He has a wife ," said Adem Selko, the author's cousin.
Others, shocked by the news, say that the perpetrator was not known as a problematic person and that he has a good reputation in the village.
" That person is good, he's not that bad, I haven't heard anything bad about him. I just found out. I don't know anything, I was shocked. He's known as a good man in the village. We didn't feel anything."

His children are married ," said Zybe Selko, the wife of the suspected perpetrator's cousin.
