A serious incident has shaken the city of Pogradec today. A 12-year-old girl, after a visit to the Korça hospital, has been found to be pregnant, approximately 22 weeks pregnant.
According to preliminary information, it is suspected that the minor was forcibly sexually abused by an elderly man with family ties to her family.
The case was identified after the girl had physical changes, which forced her parents to take her to the hospital for an examination. After the visit, it was confirmed that the minor was pregnant.
It is learned that the elderly man, suspected to be around 70 years old, repeatedly threatened the minor not to tell the incident, while the police arrested the latter.
Investigative actions are currently being carried out and family members are being questioned, while the girl has admitted to the incident in the presence of a psychologist.
