A 37-year-old woman was arrested by the Saranda police for driving while intoxicated.
After the alcohol test, she was found to be drunk, the young woman was escorted to the police station. She also confessed that she was raped by her ex-partner.
Faced with this report, the police authorities moved and arrested the 40-year-old. Despite the violence that the 37-year-old had suffered, she did not escape the legal responsibility for drunk driving and ended up in handcuffs.
"Specialists of the Road Police Sector of the Sarandë Police Station have stopped for verification, the "Benz" type vehicle, driven by a citizen of MK, 37 years old, who, after performing the alcohol test, was found to be in a drunken state. For this reason, this citizen was accompanied to the Police Station for further action, where she reported that she was raped by her ex-partner. Following the actions for this case, the crime investigation specialists of the Sarandë Police Station arrested the citizen S. Ç., 40 years old, as it is suspected that on 19.02.2024, he committed violence against this citizen. Also, after communication with the prosecutor, for this case, the MK citizen was arrested in the act, for the criminal offense of "Driving the vehicle in an irregular manner", according to the police announcement.
