The Italian police of Bari completed during the weekend an anti-drug operation confirmed yesterday (October 5) to the media, announcing the seizure of 6.5 kg of cocaine.
In the early hours of the morning of October 2, 2024, an important operation of the State Police led to the arrest of an Albanian citizen, with regular documents in Italy, on the charge of keeping and transporting narcotics, specifically cocaine.
The officers stopped a "BMW", suspecting it as a result of the nervousness shown by the Albanian, whose name was not disclosed.
The intolerance shown by the suspect during the checks has prompted the officers to request the intervention of the reinforcement units and especially the anti-drug dog of the Bari Police Station, for more detailed checks.
Thanks to the highly trained sniffing of drug sniffing dogs, a significant amount of cocaine, approximately 6.5 kg, was discovered inside the vehicle.
The drug was hidden in six parallelepiped-shaped wrappers, positioned in a secret chamber, a cleverly created partition between the heat-resistant part and the bottom of the car, "BariNews" writes.
After the checks, the Albanian was arrested and sent to Bari prison, pending the validation of the security measure by the judge.
