
A person has been arrested by the Fier police, after being accused of air, water and soil pollution.
The citizen Gjergji Pambuku was arrested, while Shaban Guni and Met Backa were prosecuted.
According to the police, these people were discharging hydrocarbon residues into the Gjanica river. Even a day before, criminal proceedings were initiated against 3 employees of two other companies, after they polluted the waters of the Gjanica river, by discharging hydrocarbon residues.
"After the information provided by the police intelligence that another company active in the processing of hydrocarbons was discharging waste into the river, the Police services went to the place called "Former UPN", Fier, where they caught the citizen Gj red-handed. P. (employee of the cleaning sector of the company) unloading hydrocarbon waste.
The specialists of the Section for the Investigation of Economic and Financial Crimes of DVP Fier have carried out all the necessary investigative and procedural actions, and at the end of them they arrested the citizen Gj. P., 52 years old, resident of Fier.
Also, for this case, the materials were referred to the Prosecutor's Office, where the proceedings began in a free state for the citizens: -Sh. G., 64 years old, administrator of the private company and MB, 65 years old, responsible for the cleaning sector in this company.
These citizens, through their activity in the field of hydrocarbons, have polluted the waters of the Gjanica river, after they have discharged there, the waste of these materials, causing the destruction of the ecological system of the river", says the police.
Meanwhile, the procedural materials were passed to the Prosecution at the Court of First Instance of Fier General Jurisdiction, for further actions, for the criminal offense "Air, water and land pollution", the police informs .
