During a normal territorial control operation to guarantee public safety and prevent crimes, the police of Trento in Italy seized over 3.3 kg of cocaine, as well as confiscating over 88,000 euros by arresting 3 people.
During a patrol to fight illegal traffic in the municipality of Trento, near the district of San Giuseppe, a team of Fiamme Gialle noticed a 30-year-old man of Tunisian origin, already known for crimes related to drug trafficking, who was moving with nervousness along the Fersina Stream. After watching him, the officers saw the suspect approach a stopped car with another person on board and hurriedly pass him a bag. Although they stopped only the driver of the car, while the other one fled on foot, the police confirmed their suspicions during the search, finding 58 thousand euros in cash in the bag. Suspecting the exchange of money and drugs, the drug sniffing dog "Aron" was called, who identified a false bottom in the car, where 3 blocks of cocaine with a total weight of 3.3 kg were found, along with another 30 thousand euros in cash.
The driver of the car, a 23-year-old Albanian resident in the province of Milan, was arrested. Thanks to the subsequent investigations, the police officers were able to reconstruct the events and determine the criminal responsibilities. Consequently, at the request of the local prosecution, the Judge for the Preliminary Investigations of the Court of Trento issued a detention order for the fugitive Tunisian. Subsequent investigations led to him being traced to an apartment in southern Trento, where he was arrested along with another undocumented compatriot.
During the investigations, it was revealed that the latter was a 26-year-old Tunisian, wanted for the execution of a custody order issued by the Court of Trento in November 2023, for crimes related to drug trafficking. The three arrested are currently in the prison of Trento, at the disposal of the Judicial Authority. The seized drug, due to its purity and cut, could have generated over 15,000 single doses, with an estimated profit of over 1.5 million euros on the Trentino market.
