The family members continued to appeal for justice this year. The granddaughter of Ziver Veiz said that they waited for the new justice bodies to reopen the case.
"For my uncle so far only a ridiculous reward has been given. We have addressed SPAK with the request to reopen the case and we hope that this will happen as soon as possible."
Asim Banushi, a friend of Veiz and one of the former protesters in the January 21 protest, said that justice is delayed and the time has come for him to speak clearly. He remembers the difficult moments during the protest and reminded once again that the evidence for justice is sufficient for the innocence of the victims.
"We hoped that we would find justice. In that protest we found a fierce opposition to the power of that time. We did not believe that we would reach such an event, with 4 victims of democracy. Justice must speak, not for us, but for the future of democracy in Albania."
According to the family, the dwshmor status that Ziver Veizi received almost 1 year ago was only a partial moral compensation for the loss of the life of an innocent person who was protesting peacefully and unarmed.
