The Appeals Prosecution has filed a claim for two doctors, Petrit Rexhepi and Elona Burba, accused of the death of Doriana Haka, the wife of former Partizan goalkeeper Alban Hoxha.
Doriana Haka lost her life in November 2014, two weeks after the birth of her first child.
The prosecution requests:
9 months in prison for gynecologist Petrit Rexhepi, but due to his age over 70, the sentence should be suspended and he should be placed on probation for 18 months.
Also, his license should be suspended for 5 years, preventing him from practicing the medical profession.
1 year in prison for resuscitator Elona Burba, as well as a license suspension for 5 years.
The next hearing is expected on November 10, where the doctors will present their defense arguments.
After more than 10 years of waiting, Doriana Haka's family hopes to finally receive a final judicial decision.
