The murder of Kreshnik Mujeci and his 32-year-old wife, Gentiana, a day ago in Lezha, has shocked public opinion.
Commenting on the event in the studio, former prosecutor Ervin Karanxha said that the case shows, according to him, the failure of the justice system and justice reform, due to the dragging out of processes for a period of 10 years.
"Here we have 10 years of processes, it shows the failure of justice reform. If it had been resolved, if there was evidence, it could have been avoided," said Karanxha.
He linked the incident to suspicions of blood feud, emphasizing that this offense, like revenge, is provided for by the Criminal Code.
"This is the second case, the first was that of Judge Kalaja. Four children were left orphans. The murder, from the information we have seen, is for blood feud, not revenge," said the former prosecutor.
Karanxha added that, even according to the customary rules of the Kanun of Lekë Dukagjini, women are not involved in blood feuds.
"There is a rule on how blood can be taken, women are not included in the Kanun of Lekë Dukagjini. We hope it will be resolved as soon as possible, because it is affecting our society," he said.
Investigations into the incident continue, while authorities are expected to clarify the full circumstances and motives of the murder.
