Murder of Martin Çeço/ Court of Appeal releases three of the

The Tirana Court of Appeal has released from prison the three perpetrators of the murder of 26-year-old Martin Çeço in Korça.

The court decided today to change the security measure from "prison arrest" to "house arrest" for the three suspected perpetrators of the murder of the young man in Maliq, Korça.

It is reported that Valter Mollaj, his cousin Edlir Mollaj and shepherd Bledi Angjo have been released from detention facilities, after the Appeals Court found that the arrest order issued on June 20, 2022 had lost its force, due to exceeding the maximum detention period.

Although the security measures have been relaxed, the investigations into the murder of Martin Çeço continue and the three suspects remain under "house arrest", awaiting the completion of court proceedings.

The serious incident occurred in June 2022, when 26-year-old Martin Çeço was killed and his body was later dumped in the reservoir of the village of Kolanec, in Maliq. The three suspects were arrested after the testimony of Martina Pajollari, who is still in prison in connection with this case.

Pajollari was later arrested, as she is suspected of having been present at the time of the murder and having provided key information that led to the unraveling of the incident and the identification of the suspected perpetrators.
