The next hearing of the "Golden Bullet" case has been postponed to January 20 by decision of the GJKKO panel. The reason is the escape of the defendant Altin Ndoci from the Durrës hospital two days ago.
"Considering the absence of this defendant, Altin Ndoci, due to his escape. In the circumstances of the impossibility of accompanying him to today's court session, it is assessed that the court repeats the notification for the defendant through the General Directorate of Police, DVP Durrës, DVP Lezha and to receive a confirmation on whether or not there is an opportunity to come to this trial. The court postpones the session to January 20 at 10:00" , the GJKKO decision states.
At the start of the trial, the court read the prison's letter: Altin Ndoci cannot be accompanied as he has escaped and is a wanted person by the State Police.
At this moment, one of Ndoc's lawyers, Aldo Shkëmbi, has asked the court to send the notice of the hearing to the defendant's apartment, as per procedure, as he may be there, a situation that no one is aware of.
"We ask the court to send a request to the police to make the notification according to the procedure, because Altin Ndoci may also be in his apartment, we don't know about this," said lawyer Shkëmbi.
In response to this, SPAK prosecutor Behar Dibra stated that: "If Ndoci was aware of this hearing before his escape, it does not constitute a reason for not holding the hearing, considering that he has only appeared in this process once."
