A 24-year-old Palestinian woman was found murdered a week ago in Tirana. The incident is shrouded in mystery as the person accompanying Rayyan Alwan was her father, Fadi. The latter has fled the country and is suspected of being the perpetrator of his daughter's stabbing death.
Based on the investigation, Albanian police have turned to German authorities for information after it emerged that the number used by the father and daughter to book tickets online was owned by a German citizen.
But the data coming from Germany is truly shocking. Fadi Alwan has been separated from the 24-year-old's mother for some time. Meanwhile, the victim herself a year ago had denounced her mother and father for being raped by them. The reason was the fact that she was not a regular practitioner of the Islamic religion.
"Officially, information has arrived where a profile has been created regarding the 49-year-old. He is a person who was previously married to the 24-year-old's mother. A year ago, the victim reported to the German police that she was raped by her two parents, Fadi Alwan and her mother, due to family problems. They lived in Berlin, Germany. According to the argument she gave, this rape is related to the fact that she was not a regular practitioner of the Islamic religion ," journalist Merin Maçi told "Opinion".
Meanwhile, journalist Bleona Metushi added that Rayyan Alwan was threatened not only by her parents, but also by her brothers. She wanted to live a free life, but apparently her family, who live in Berlin, did not agree with this. According to German authorities, the 24-year-old was married and had two children in Lebanon, where her ex-husband lives.
"According to information, in January 2024, the girl reported to the German police that she was threatened by her father, her two brothers and her mother because she wanted to live a free and democratic life. They did not agree with the choices she had made. It seems that the investigations are oriented towards this track. Other family members of the girl live in Berlin. The German police have brought information to the Albanian authorities that the 24-year-old turns out to be married and divorced, and her husband lives in Lebanon with their children ," she said.
