Marijuana 'farm' in Barcelona, 4 Albanians arrested; how they

Four Albanians and 2 Spaniards were arrested as part of a Mossos d'Esquadra operation with the Alella Local Police.

The operation aimed to dismantle marijuana cultivation bases, one of which was discovered in the Can Teixidó neighborhood of the city of Maresme (Barcelona).

Catalan police received information about the cultivation of narcotics on February 27, and based on a court order, searches were carried out, revealing that the basement of a building was full of plants.

In total, police found over 700 plants in the basement of a house in Alella.

Specifically, during the search of the apartment, 725 marijuana plants and 30 kilograms of buds were found. Also, with the cooperation of technicians from the electricity company, it was determined that electricity was being stolen, while the damage caused by this aspect alone is estimated at 65,000 euros.

The six arrested, aged 30 to 49, are accused as suspected perpetrators of crimes against public health for drug trafficking, one for electricity theft and one for membership in a criminal group. They are also accused of forgery of documents, since although the house was rented legally, the tenants had manipulated their pay slips to formalize the contract with the real estate agency.

According to the Alella Municipal Council, this is the fifth plantation of this type to be dismantled in this municipality since the creation of the Local Police Operational Group (GOSC).
