Renato Hoxhaj was executed in April 2025 in Vlora, an event that has led to the arrest of at least two people, while the person who committed the murder has been declared wanted.
According to Report TV, it is about Romanian citizen Daniel Cornea, who has been declared wanted by Albanian authorities. Cornea is a person registered for crimes against the person, while there are suspicions that immediately after the murder he left Albania. The suspicions are that Cornea acted as a hired killer, while Albanian law enforcement authorities have carried out the procedures for declaring him internationally wanted.
The suspicions are that from Albanian territory, Cornea went to Greece and then lost track. According to reports, immediately after the crime, without wasting time, Cornea traveled to Greece, leaving no one time to follow his trail.
Cornea is suspected of being the person who appears on security cameras wearing a strange outfit, which served as a disguise to avoid being identified.
The murder of Renato Hoxhaj is suspected to have been ordered from Dubai, while it is thought that the cause of the murder may have been the double game that the victim played between rival criminal groups.
Three days ago, Kleanth Bylyku alias Armando Gega, 42, was also arrested in connection with Hoxhaj's murder. The latter was arrested while traveling in a white Audi, while the Operational Forces intervened to handcuff him.
Bylyku is not an unknown name for the Vlora Blues, as he has previously been convicted of illegal possession of weapons. The Vlora Court has imposed the security measure "prison arrest" on him, suspected of the criminal offense of "premeditated murder, committed in collaboration".
Following the investigations, based on the evidence provided by the Serious Crimes Investigation Section, the First Instance Court of General Jurisdiction of Vlora, with the decision dated 30.07.2025, has determined the security measure "arrest in prison", for the citizen KB, alias AG, 42 years old, resident of Vlora, suspected of being a co-author in the commission of the criminal offense "Premeditated Murder", committed in collaboration. The incident occurred on the morning of 27.04.2025, at around 06:20, near the Polyclinic of the city of Vlora, where the citizen RH, 58 years old, was killed with a firearm," the Vlora Police announced.
Eris Mehmetaj was also arrested on April 30th for Hoxhaj's murder, accused of being an accomplice. Mehmetaj is suspected of having provided the vehicle in which the perpetrator traveled to Vlora on the day of the incident.
