Vlora Police have held a media conference to provide details about the arrest of the highly wanted Flodian Plaku alias Florjan Serjani (Mamo), who is suspected of being directly involved in the murder of former police officer Gentian Bejtja.
The roles of Flodian Plaku's associates, who was hiding in a hotel in Orikum, have also been revealed.
The arrested Albano Lapshi was delivering food to Flodian Plaku's hotel, while Armando Dano was the barber who went to the hotel to give him a haircut, as was Ligor Doko, the owner of the hotel where he was arrested.
And Julian Aliaj, who was caught with a pistol. He had previously been convicted of drug trafficking.
Flodian Plaku had been under police surveillance for about two months. On the day of his intervention and arrest, the movements of Albano Lapshi and Armando Dano, originally from Shkodra, known as "Berberi", were also followed, as they were heading towards the hotel where Plaku was hiding.
At the time of the intervention, police forces arrested 42-year-old Flodian Plaku, while Julian Aliaj was also detained during the operation. The latter was carrying a firearm (pistol) and it turns out that he had previously been arrested for drug trafficking.
