The Court of Appeal of General Jurisdiction announces the verdict for Mejit Picari and his daughter Dhurata Saliaj, who are accused of murdering Kudret Saliaj.
The court sentenced Mejit Picari to life imprisonment, while his daughter, Dhurata Saliaj, was sentenced to 4 years and 6 months in prison. The latter is accused of creating the conditions to commit the murder. For Saliaj, the court dropped the charge of complicity in the murder.
We remind you that the serious event took place in 2021, while as a result of the clashes, the lawyer Adriatik Cama was also injured.
The couple Dhurata and Kudret Saliaj were in the process of divorce because they had a disagreement, when the serious crime occurred in June 2021.
The victim, Kudret Saliaj, arrived at a bar near the Tirana court, where he was waiting for the next divorce hearing to take place and was in the presence of his lawyer and a social worker.
His father-in-law Mejit Picari, after observing him together with his daughter Dhurata Saliaj, shot the son-in-law to death, while the lawyer Adriatik Cami was also injured in the incident.
