The Assize Court of Svona in Italy has sentenced Safayou Sow, the 27-year-old citizen of Guinea, who killed his former Albanian partner, Danjela Neza, to life in prison on May 6, 2023.
Sow was also sentenced for compensating the victim's mother with 318,000 euros and her brother with 100,000. Also, isolation for one year was imposed.
Sow had arrived in Italy by boat and found work as a dishwasher in the restaurant where Neza worked. A relationship was born between the two, which was then ended by the girl. In response, Sow had asked her to resign, followed by the final, tragic meeting in the gardens adjacent to the station.
Danjela Neza was shot in the head. Immediately after, Sow himself called 112: "I killed a woman, come and get me."
In front of the judge, he then gave an accurate story: The two had one last meeting, the classic last chance to clear things up and maybe get back together. Instead they argued, so he took a gun from the car, pointed it at Danjela's head and fired. Then he called 112, confessing everything.
