The Head of the State Police, Skënder Hita, has rejected claims that SPAK is bypassing the State Police during operations, following questions from journalists regarding the arrest of Adi Çoba by the National Bureau of Investigation (BKH).
During a statement to the media, Hita said that the State Police was also involved in that operation, carrying out actions on the ground, while emphasizing that BKH officers have legal powers to intervene and carry out actions independently.
According to him, there is no room for interpretations that the Police are being left out of SPAK operations, emphasizing that this is just an allusion.
"Even in that operation, the Police were present, carrying out a series of actions, but they have the legal attribute, as BKH officers, to carry out actions themselves in the field. There is no room for insinuations. This was the choice they thought of. We continue to be present in police operations day after day. It is only an insinuation, or a conjecture that happens," said Hita.
