Yesterday, a hearing was held in the Thessaloniki Court for the 2 defendants accused of murdering the Albanian Gjeorgjia Murati. Among the defendants is her ex-partner. The Albanian's brother also took part in the session as he tried to attack the defendants when they were taken to the Court.
Meanwhile, the testimony of the ex-partner, who was sentenced to life imprisonment for the knife massacre of the 41-year-old pregnant woman, was revealed today. The 39-year-old and his friend, who was sentenced to 15 years in prison, accused each other of being the killers of the Albanian, rejecting the accusations that they are the perpetrators of the incident.
During the hearing, the 39-year-old said that on New Year's Eve 2024, they had an argument in the apartment where they lived in Kalamaria. He then added that after the debate he had taken medication for depression and slept. He emphasized that he woke him up the next day and noticed that the victim had taken 5,000 euros from his savings.
"I had a little argument with Georgia, took my anti-depressants and slept. When I woke up the next day, Georgia was gone and had taken 5,000 euros from my savings. I don't know who texted me when she died. I doubt the 34-year-old did it," he said.
