The Korça Prosecutor's Office has brought to trial Ilirjan Selmani, 32, who about 6 months ago, killed his girlfriend, Kozeta Teço, a crime that occurred in Pogradec.
Against Selmani, the Korça Prosecution Office has filed the charge of 'murder in other qualifying circumstances' provided for by Article 79/e of the Criminal Code.
From the investigations, it resulted that in neighborhood no. 1 in the city of Pogradec, in July 2025, a fire had broken out in an apartment and a victim was suspected, later identified as citizen KT.
From the examination of the scene, where several fire sources were found, as well as from the first examination of the corpse, on whose body signs of violence were found. Meanwhile, in the toilet of the apartment, placed in a garbage bag, a knife handle, a knife blade, another knife with a wooden handle and a knife blade contaminated with reddish matter similar to blood were found.
At the conclusion of the forensic medical examination, it was concluded that the injuries inflicted on citizen KT were caused by sharp cutting tools. The cause of death was traumatic-hemorrhagic shock.
From the totality of the investigative actions carried out, the acts and the sources of evidence obtained, it results that the citizen under investigation IS had a love relationship with the victim. He often went to her apartment, about 2-3 times a week and their relationship lasted for more than 3 years. From the results of the examination of the film footage taken by the subjects around the scene of the incident, it was found that the citizen IS went to the victim's apartment at 22:48 according to the film footage and after this time no other movement was found until 03:58 according to the camera time and 04:58 according to the real time, the moment when the citizen IS threw the bags in the trash can.
Referring to the acts of the evaluative and comparative biological expertise, it resulted that the citizen KT was killed with the knives that were found in a bag in the toilet of her apartment, which contained blood and hair belonging to the victim. It resulted that the victim's blood was found in the back pocket of the pants of the citizen IS.
In conclusion, from the entirety of the investigative actions carried out, acts and sources of evidence have been obtained that prove that citizen IS killed the victim KT in circumstances that caused special suffering and must be criminally liable for committing the criminal offense "Murder in other qualifying circumstances" in such a way that causes special suffering to the victim, as provided for in Article 79, letter (e) of the Criminal Code.
