A serious road accident occurred this morning on the Librazhd-Elbasan axis.
The incident occurred around 07:30, at the place known as "Murrashit Bend", causing panic among drivers driving in that segment.
According to preliminary data, the vehicle involved in the accident was suspected to be traveling at high speed. While attempting to avoid rocks and debris on the road, the driver lost control of the vehicle. The vehicle collided with the metal guardrails and then overturned, falling back onto the roadway.
Fortunately, the vehicle did not end up in the Shkumbin River, which would have had much more serious consequences.
As a result of the accident, the driver of the vehicle and another person were injured and were urgently transported to the hospital for medical assistance, while the vehicle suffered significant damage.
Police and ambulance services arrived at the scene, which made it possible to normalize traffic and are working to fully clarify the causes of the accident. Drivers of vehicles circulating on the Elbasan-Librazhd-Prrenjas road axis should show increased caution, especially in the problematic segments of “Murrashit Curves”, “Dragostunja Curves and Pishkash Curves” where landslides pose a risk to road safety.
