New details have emerged regarding the murder of 24-year-old Palestinian Rayan Alwan, an event that is suspected to have occurred on February 22 in Tirana.
The young woman was found stabbed to death on February 27 in a rented house in Tirana. Friends of the 24-year-old have recounted details from the deceased's life.
They told "News 24" that Rayan Alwan was a mother of two children and was divorced from her husband, after he abused and raped her.
The unfortunate journey that led to her departure from this world seems to have started with a mother's desire to meet her two children who, after the divorce, lived with their father, as required by Lebanese law.
How did the incident happen?
Rayyan and Fadi Alwan arrived in Rinas on February 19 and moved into a rented apartment on Gjon Muzaka Street in the capital. According to investigators, after killing the 24-year-old with several stab wounds on February 22, Fadi Alwan left Albania for Greece and from there to Amsterdam. He is suspected of having fled to Lebanon and has not been arrested so far. The 24-year-old's body was found by the owner of the apartment, 5 days after the suspected perpetrator had left the country.
