One of the "horror" files is revealed / Romeo Qosja and Lefter

The two 41-year-old Albanians who escaped yesterday evening from Kassavetia prison in Greece, turned out to be co-authors of the criminal offenses for which they are accused.

Romeo Qosja from Cërriku and Lefter Toçi from Bradasheshi in Elbasan were accused on March 31, 2016 of "premeditated murder" and "cooperative and serial robbery". They have been detained for these charges. On April 21, 2016, charges of "participation in a criminal organization" and "robbery" were brought against Qosja and Toçi, Top Channel correspondent Artur Bibe reports.

After the 18-month period of detention, in September 2017, Qosja and Toçi were released with a security measure of "obligation to appear" and "prohibition of leaving the country". It turns out that they did not implement the security measure, even on July 27, 2018, Lefter Toçi was arrested by the border police for "violation of the security measure" and "opposing the police forces", but he was released again. In addition, Romeo Qosja was accused on May 13, 2008 of "creating a criminal organization", "continuous robbery" and "violation of the law on weapons".

After being released on bail from prison and even a few days after Toçi's second release, the duo turns out to have committed another armed robbery. On August 13, 2018, around 04:00, Romeo Qosja, in collaboration with Lefter Toçi and citizen A. G, entered the luxury villa of a Greek couple, being masked and armed with 2 pistols and 1 revolver. The couple lived with their 4 children, one of whom was missing that day. They went to the couple's bedroom and forcibly pulled citizen FP from the bed first. One of the perpetrators hit him lightly with the butt of the gun. After that, they pulled his wife by the hair, throwing her on the ground and pointed the gun at her saying: "The guns are real". They lightly hit two of the minor children in the ribs and head with a weapon. Then they pointed the gun at the 11-year-old child, who was forced to follow his mother into the bedroom, where the other family members were gathered, and threatened everyone with a gun, saying: "I will slaughter". Under threat, they forced citizen B.B to hand over a cardboard box from the room of the 11-year-old child, in which there were savings over 45,000 euros, which come from F.P's commercial activity, with the object of processing and storing meat and offal.

Afterwards, 3 "Rolex" brand wristwatches were taken from F. P's room, one gold, one silver and one platinum with a total value of around 15,000 euros. From the bedroom of one of the children, they took 300 euros and three wrist watches of the brands "Gant", "Armani" and an unknown brand, with an undetermined value, as well as a backpack of the brand "Canonbp 100" worth 55 euros. After that, the three perpetrators locked the family in the bedroom and called one of their associates, saying "we charged too much, let's go." During the escape, they took the keys and the driving license of a "Mercedes-Benz" type vehicle owned by F. P's company and left with it around 04.16. After traveling with him, they abandoned the vehicle, taking the key and leaving in another vehicle. The family managed to open the gate with a second key and then managed to notify the police.

Through a screwdriver forgotten by the perpetrators on the ledge of the villa's bathroom window, the police managed to identify one of the perpetrators. DNA traces of Lefter Toçi were discovered on the screwdriver. A European arrest warrant was issued for Toç, which was executed on April 4, 2019, putting him behind bars. At different times, Romeo Qosja and AG Toçi and Qosja accepted the charge but sought to exclude AG from responsibility, saying that he was not with them at the event.

Toçi said that he had reliable information from the Albanian S. L, who was related to the robbed family. He even said that they had entered the villa with keys but had left the screwdriver by the window to make the police think that they had entered there. He said that he and Romeo Qosjan were sentenced together before. It was even discovered that A. G was a childhood friend of Qosjan, originating from the same village in Albania.

Although Qosja and Toçi tried to exonerate A. G, the testimony of F. P and his wife during the court session on October 2, 2020, sealed his guilt. F. P accused A. G of kicking him. He even said in another session that the author's eyes could be seen from the mask, his body type belonged to him and he remembered his neck and voice. The businessman's wife also said that she recognized A. G as the person who came after her, put the gun on her minor son and took him to the room where the other children were. She said that she recognized the eyes and lips of the perpetrators and that she recognized AG's voice. According to the couple and the children, the perpetrators were wearing masks made of thin socks with slits that made the eyes, lips, ears and neck visible. They even noticed a tattoo with Chinese characters on Romeo Qosja's right forearm, which he actually has.

Romeo Qosja and Lefter Toçi were in the prison of Kassavetia since 2019 and were kept in an unfenced area due to good behavior.

They turn out to have taken 5 leaves during 2024. They apparently took advantage of their return from leave a few days ago to plan their escape. Due to their dangerousness, the Greek police have started intensive checks throughout Greece. / TCH
