A 36-year-old owner of a phone sales business has been detained by the Tirana police.
This person interfered with the operating systems of these phones, iOS and Android, acquiring the data.
From the police investigations, it turns out that there are 473 embezzlements of different passwords carried out by Ervin Voci. He did them through unlicensed programs like DarkWeb or even through the generation of phone numbers of different countries.
Voci decrypted the phones, formatted them and then sold them.
The police operation coded "Wiper" by the Sector for the Investigation of Cybercrimes is finalized.
A 36-year-old man, the owner of a business for the sale and purchase of telephone devices, who, interfering with the iOS and Android operating systems of smartphones, appropriated the computer data of these devices and at the same time broke their operating systems illegally, including here and the iCloud online system.
Specialists of the Sector for the Investigation of Cybercrimes in the DVP Tirana, in the framework of a criminal proceeding of 2024, followed by special methods of investigation, after the interception of digital pulses, as well as in implementation of Decision no. 5336, dated 01.10.2024, of the Court of First Instance of the General Jurisdiction of Tirana, in cooperation with the Special Operational Force and the Eagles Special Force Sector, have finalized the coded police operation "Wiper".
During the operation, the citizen EV, 36 years old, was arrested for the criminal offenses "Interference with computer data", "Interference with computer systems", "Misuse of equipment", "Interference with semiconductor circuit topography data", and " Unauthorized sale of SIM cards", provided by articles 293/b, 293/c, 293/ç, 149/b and 293/d of the Criminal Code.
Citizen EV is suspected that through special electronic devices, unlicensed programs, which are sold on the online black market, otherwise known as DarkWeb, as well as through the generation of phone numbers of different countries, from specific online programs, he has interfered in computer data of operating systems of mobile devices. Thus, this citizen managed to break their security elements, and then took possession of the computer data of the previous users and the return to the initial state of the smartphones in order to sell them.
Until now, 473 embezzlements of different passwords have been documented with legal evidence', the police announced.
