A large-scale fire broke out a short while ago in a building in Lushnje.
The cause of the fire was the burning of an electrical panel in a block of flats, while the lack of electricity and the interruption of elevators made it difficult for firefighters and police to intervene.
Thanks to the rapid response of the fire services, the fire was extinguished and brought under control within minutes. Thick smoke from the plastics and cables made the work of the emergency team difficult, but fortunately there were no casualties. Several people with breathing problems were transported to the Lushnja hospital for medical assistance.
Several residents were also trapped on the top floors of the building. Power has not yet been restored to the building, but firefighters confirm that there are no people in danger in the apartments that were engulfed by flames and smoke.
