This year's Nobel Peace Prize has been awarded to Iranian women's rights activist Narges Mohammadi.
The committee says she received the award for her fight against the oppression of women in Iran and her efforts to promote human rights and freedom for all.
This year's winner will receive a prize of 11 million Swedish Krona, equivalent to nearly one million US dollars.
This is a 10% increase from last year's amount.
Recipients will also be awarded a diploma and one of the Nobel Committee's iconic 18-carat gold medals.
The obverse of the medal shows a side profile of the founder Alfred Nobel.
On the reverse, three men are pictured "forming a fraternal bond" with the inscription "Pro pace et fraternitate gentium", a Latin phrase meaning "for the peace and brotherhood of men".
