Gudrun Ure, the actress known for the role of "Super Gran" in the popular children's series of the 1980s, has passed away at the age of 98. The news was made public by her niece, Kate McNeill, who said Ure died at her home in London.

Gudrun Ure was born in Milton, Campsie, near Stirling, in 1926 and grew up in Glasgow. In her early career, she acted at the Edinburgh Festival, the Children's Theater and in a 1951 stage version of Othello, starring and directed by Orson Welles. Later, the actress appeared in the TV dramas "Casualty" and "Midsomer Murders". Submadha dies at the age of 98

But Ure is best known for her extraordinary role as Stepmother "Super Gran", a role she took on at the age of 59. Her character had superhuman strength and abilities after being hit by a magic beam.
