
Prime Minister Edi Rama is paying an official visit to Kosovo today, on the eve of the 18th anniversary of the declaration of independence. During his stay in Pristina, he will hold meetings with the highest leaders of the state.
According to the Prime Minister's Office announcement, Rama will meet with President Vjosa Osmani and the Prime Minister of Kosovo, Albin Kurti.
The agenda also includes participation in the promotion of the book "When Silence Speaks" by author Ahmet Shala, as well as an open lecture with students of the "Hasan Prishtina" University and students of the "Sami Frashëri" high school.
"On February 16, 2026, the Prime Minister of the Republic of Albania, Mr. Edi Rama, will pay an official visit to the Republic of Kosovo. On this occasion, the Kosovo Police, during this visit, will take care of maintaining public order and peace as well as regulating traffic, during the movement of the escort and the stay of the delegation in Kosovo.
"To enable the free movement of the escort according to the movement itinerary from the Airport border crossing point, as well as the development of activities according to the official agenda of the visit, the Kosovo Police will temporarily interrupt traffic flow (in short time intervals) on several road segments (where the escort is expected to pass), where there may be a reorientation of traffic to alternative routes. The Kosovo Police requests full understanding from citizens and traffic participants," the official announcement states.
Kosovo Police announced that they will take measures to maintain order and manage traffic during the movement of the escort and the stay of the delegation.
Authorities will temporarily close some road segments along the route from the Airport and in areas where official activities will take place. In some cases, traffic will be diverted to alternative routes.
