"28 SP MPs were elected by cartels", Baçi: The murder in Rinas

Democratic Party MP Luan Baçi has spoken about the links between the government and organized crime. He said that there is no longer an agreement between them, but a complete union. MP Baçi accused the government that the government and organized crime have now become one. “There is no agreement, they have become one. They work together,” he declared.

Baçi said that around 28 Socialist Party deputies were directly elected by organized crime and drug cartels. He stressed that the high number of votes for some anonymous candidates is clear evidence that those votes do not come from popular support, but from criminal structures.

The MP described the current parliament as captured, going so far as to say that it would be better if the prime minister had appointed "83 suns" instead of the current MPs, as according to him, they would at least be controlled by Rama, not by the criminal world outside of him.

Commenting on the recent mafia execution in the Rinas Airport parking lot, Baçi harshly criticized the level of security in the country, stating that crime has taken a free hand. The MP described the fact that the incident occurred at the very time when the responsible minister was boasting in the parliamentary committee about achievements in the field of security as ironic and scandalous. He described the incident as a “real war” in a high-security institution, emphasizing that it was only fate that prevented innocent civilian casualties.

Baçi argued that the State Police has become a tool of the Socialist Party, losing its function in serving citizens.

"This situation has existed in our country for years and it is not just in these moments. In these moments we are reminded when the event occurs, which is a very serious event, but we have had dozens of other such events. In Albania, a miracle happens, because such events or scandals of the most diverse kinds occur, where the event covers the event and the scandal covers the scandal.

Yesterday's event was even scandalous, at a moment when the minister herself was bragging in the commission, where she had been summoned about the government's achievements and the security that existed in the country. While the minister was speaking, at the only airport in our country, at Rinas airport, a high-security institution, where foreign delegations are supposed to arrive – a fight broke out in broad daylight. It's not that it was an execution; we say a truly mafia-style execution, but I would say it was an execution, because mafia executions are with silencers, invisible, and you find out after five minutes that someone has been executed. In fact, there was a real fight there: people getting out of their vehicles, blocking the road and shooting with Kalashnikovs in bursts.

So, it was a war. It was a great luck that there were no innocent victims, because the bullets flew and went through the windows of businesses that were nearby. So, it was luck and coincidence that there were no other victims. And it is not known in which direction the perpetrators of the massacre that occurred.

Seen from this perspective, it is not surprising, it is not even surprising what has happened to this government. We know that this government no longer exists for security, for the citizens. It is a government caught up in crime, it has become one with crime, a government that is hostage to crime, because it is hostage to bought elections, it is hostage to stolen elections. And as such, let's not forget the fact that, according to the information I have, the passenger who was in the vehicle was an AMP employee.

But real vetting cannot be done by a government that has turned this police into its own tool. The State Police is no longer what it should be; it is called the State Police, but this is the police of the Socialist Party, the police of power. Political leaders of all levels are absolutely people politically appointed by the Socialist Party, people who in the vast majority of them have received the ranks they have received as a result of the services they have rendered politically to the ruling party, and not as ranks they deserve professionally.

Seen from this perspective, we absolutely do not expect that only drivers or low-level people will be part of the crime that comes from crime. We have high-ranking State Police leaders; we have the Director General of the State Police, who is a person who is already known by everyone to depend on the Elbasan gangs and is in their service. In this regard, we have nothing more to say about the State Police; we are talking about the power police, the political police, the police that in the May 11 elections had a special role in manipulating the elections in the service of the ruling party.

There is no agreement, I think. They have become one. That is, the agreement is when two parties make an agreement and then each continues their work, while these work together. While organized crime manages to bring anonymous deputies to parliament, whom no one knows, and get tens of thousands of votes, with 10 or 20 thousand votes, it is very obvious that these are individuals who cannot secure such a large number of votes without being public figures, political figures, visible in a political entity.

It is very evident the fact and the result of the vote counting for some individuals who have become deputies of the Socialist Party, which shows that they are not their votes as individuals, but the votes of organized crime, and they are there in its service. They are always willing to vote according to the interests of those who sent them to parliament.

"So, we have a parliament, I would say that it would have been better if it had been with 83 "suns", as Rama put it, than with these deputies, because maybe those "suns" would be deputies who would not be commanded from outside, but only by Rama. Whereas now, even Rama no longer has them all under his direction, under his control, because a good part of them is controlled by the rest of the crime that is outside", he told "Syri TV".
