Prime Minister Edi Rama this Monday gathered the Socialist Party parliamentary group and the government cabinet at the Brigades Palace, where the focus of the meeting is Albania's integration into the EU.
During the extended meeting, which lasted four hours, Foreign Minister Ferit Hoxha and Chief Negotiator Majlinda Dhuka reported on the integration process, with a special focus on Chapter 24 of the negotiations, "Justice, Freedom and Security".
The meeting was also reported by political leaders, Ervin Demo in the Berat region, and after him Blendi Klosi for the Durrës region. Meanwhile, the leaders of the three regions, Korça, Vlorë and Kukës, were absent due to some commitments abroad, as part of a delegation in Ireland.
It was learned at the meeting that Rama asked the deputies to be as present on the ground as possible, to cooperate with the local government in solving citizens' problems.
Regarding integration, Rama said that the process is moving very quickly, so MPs need to communicate more with citizens, especially with businesses, while he considered food security to be the main challenge.
