Minister of Justice, Besfort Lamallari, also faced several questions in the Laws Committee from opposition MPs.
MP Elda Hoti asked him if he has worked with the Soros Foundation and considers himself a product of it, while Minister Lamallari responded by saying that he is proud of his professional experiences and that no one can write his biography.
Elda Hoti: Have you worked at the Soros Foundation and do you consider yourself a product of it? How will this experience influence your approach to justice reform?
Besfort Lamallari: I am proud of my professional experience, including a study on organized crime in the country. There are moments like these that also enable career advancement, identifying the needs that the country presents, thanks to educational training abroad through the support of these international organizations that have provided support. When the Albanian state distributed scholarships of excellence to the children of politicians, those who worked hard and came from normal Albanian families had no opportunity no matter how excellent they were and the only opportunity was through grants from other partners. The idea of making a biography as if the other person will be complex does not occur to me. I do not make a biography for anyone.
