CEZ-DIA affair and lobbying in the US, preliminary trial for Meta and other defendants postponed again

The preliminary trial for the CEZ-DIA affair and lobbying in the United States against PL Leader Ilir Meta and others has been postponed again. The reason for the postponement of the session was the absence of the lawyer of Piro Xhixho, one of the defendants in the case.

The hearing was scheduled to take place at the Special Court, where SPAK's request to transfer the case to trial against former President Ilir Meta and other individuals involved in the case was expected to be reviewed. The panel decided to postpone the preliminary trial to January 22.

We recall that the investigations are related to the CEZ-DIA affair, as well as suspicions of illegal lobbying in the US by the SMI, issues that have long been the focus of Albanian justice.
