DP MP, Jorida Tabaku, who managed to secure a mandate in the next Parliament by being elected MP through the open list in the Tirana District with over 20 thousand votes, has confessed in "Kjo Javë" with Nisida Tufa, on News24, the challenges she faced.
Tabaku said that for her this campaign was one of the most difficult, tiring and stressful, while emphasizing that she has missed her family and children for 3 months.
Tabaku does not call receiving the mandate a battle won, since, as she says, the PD-ASHM objective was not achieved, which was political rotation.
" I can say that the "running" phase is over, but the process is still ongoing. It has been a very long, tiring and stressful campaign with a new system, but also with many difficulties."
Even to try something different, not just for me but also within the overall framework of the Democratic Party, which came after an internal challenge within the party, so there were many different things and not only a political reality, but for me it was truly a new challenge.
I also spent some time with my family, I had been missing them for almost two and a half or three months and counting the days, holding me accountable for what had made me feel very bad on a personal level, and trying to meet with my collaborators, with the democrats, with the structures, and with the people we had on this journey during these last three months.
I want to say something that I have also said to my colleagues and the Democratic Party structures with whom we have worked together.
Of course, this was a personal challenge for me because I was in a completely different race this time, but I can't call it a battle won because for me, the political rotation would be the one won.
"We entered this battle with our personal investment, but when you look at the overall situation and the impossibility of political rotation, but also the fact that today we do not have a better political situation than we had before the elections. I do not believe that we have solved anything and I do not even feel comfortable saying that we succeeded and that this was a process with a positive result ," said Tabaku.
She also emphasized that the opposition action in the next Parliament must be reformatted.
" Meanwhile, from a personal point of view, I will certainly continue to represent the opposition in Parliament as I have done, and perhaps now we need to reformat our opposition battle a little differently in the way we will face it."
"To be honest, it's a mixed situation because the perfect situation would have been for those people who have been facing it for 12 years, working to support us, whom I thanked in the last days of the campaign. In addition to the people I work with, there are also those who knock on doors where we are not ," she emphasized.
