Why doesn't Sali Berisha resign...
Sali Berisha has decided to hold the Democratic Party hostage even after another deep electoral defeat. Instead of retreating and opening the way, he has made it clear that he has no intention of leaving. On the contrary, his every move shows that he is prepared for defeat. The entire game is built with a single goal: to survive politically in order to survive legally.
Berisha's real worry is not losing the elections, he had calculated that. What scares him is justice. The "Partizani" case has already gone to trial, and although Berisha is likely to avoid prison due to his age, his son-in-law, Jamarbër Malltezi, does not have that luxury.
Other clouds are appearing on the horizon: the “Gërdec” file has been reopened, and this could bring serious consequences for his son, Shkëlzeni, who has until now remained in the shadows, but not out of the investigators’ attention. Meanwhile, the “January 21” file, an open wound in the national conscience, has regained life, and with it, Berisha’s fear that justice will knock for that massacre as well.
In this context, the DP is only a shield for Berisha. He is not using the party to turn it into a governing alternative, but as a personal bunker to protect himself and his family. It is no coincidence that he has signed a two-year lobbying contract with the company “Continental”, an attempt to influence the US and stop support for the justice reform.
It is not for nothing that Berisha created a loyal circle. He has made deputies those who comb their tails every day and are ready to set the country on fire to protect their spiritual leader. So, thanks to them, not only will every critical voice be silenced, but the DP will turn into a party that will fight for every trouble Berisha will have with justice in the future.
Democrats are brainwashed every day that the elections were stolen. "Election theft" is a pretext for not implementing the "Basha Article" for the resignation of the mayor if he loses the elections. So the reality is brutal: Berisha is ready to set fire to the DP headquarters just to save Argita, Shkëlzeni and himself. /Pamphlet
