The prosecution of a fanatic reveals a campaign directed from abroad, aimed at producing hatred where Albanian society does not have it.
A few days ago, the police prosecuted a character who had been publicly threatening Jews and Israeli citizens in Albania on social media for a long time.
The Anti-Terror Directorate prosecuted one of these individuals, an Islamic fanatic with the initials BG from Vlora, who publicly attacked and threatened the Jewish chief cleric of Albania, Rabbi Joel Kaplan.
The treatment of this character, who is a kind of influencer on social networks for the community he claims to represent, has provoked strong reactions from Erdoganist media in Albania. These media have long raised the bar of anti-Semitic discourse in the country, leaving nothing unsaid against Jews and Israel.
One of these media outlets considers the prosecution of the influencer who threatened a Jewish cleric as an "act of impudence by the Albanian state as a scapegoat of Israel."

The BG case is not the only one. For some time now, Israeli authorities and diplomats in Albania have been raising the alarm about a rise in anti-Semitism. Even for an outside observer, it is clear that this phenomenon does not originate from Albanian society, but is directed and directed from above.
The Israelis have realized in time that this is nothing more than a game directed, supported and financed by Turkey. Initially, they did not react, as it was noticed that all this anger and hatred did not bring any real effect on the Albanian community. As before, respect and relations between Albanians and Jews have continued to be good.
In the past year, Israeli tourists have made up a significant portion of visitors to Albania. Not only have they not encountered any problems, but they have also spread positive impressions of Albanians on their social networks.
It is precisely this positive impact that has irritated Ankara, which has ordered an increase in the dose of media attacks on Israel, to artificially create the idea of a popular sentiment against Jews in Albania.
However, these developments have not seriously concerned the Israeli authorities, who have seen them as a tragicomic spectacle that has been postponed for a long time. But when the dose of threat increases and when the target becomes a religious cleric, then the situation takes on another dimension and becomes serious.
The scandal has reached an unpleasant point, as certain television stations give space to tragicomic characters who attack Jews and spread anti-Semitic propaganda.
