The President of Albania, Bajram Begaj, has congratulated the citizens on the occasion of the new year. In his greetings, the President praised the honest work, commitment and success of the citizens, emphasizing that they strengthen faith and hope in the future.
Begaj wishes health to every Albanian family, from children to grandparents. Among other things, the President also wished health to the Albanians of Kosovo, North Macedonia, Montenegro, the Presevo Valley, the Arbëreshës and the Diaspora.

Dear citizens, Dear compatriots,
Tonight, as you gather around the festive table with your family and loved ones, I would like to take just a few moments to wish you a very Happy New Year!
New Year's Eve is a time of reflection, a moment when we pause to look at what we left behind and to project our hopes for the new year. This is, above all, a celebration of family. The values that grow within it are precisely those that give strength and stability to our entire society.
Caring for the younger generation is not just a feeling, but a wise choice for the future. Investing in our children and young people is the cornerstone of the European Albania we aspire to. Albanians have shown that knowledge, dedication and honest work are our greatest strength. We have proven achievements. Behind every success, there is
family work and sacrifice that prove that the future is not built with big words, but with daily commitment.
Dear Albanians, Your honest work, your commitment and your success strengthen faith and hope in the future. Sisters and brothers, The year that is ending was a year of efforts and challenges, where Albania once again demonstrated the will to move forward. We still have work to do to narrow inequalities and strengthen trust in institutions. We strengthened our international role and took concrete steps towards the European Union. We have made progress in strengthening the rule of law, in the fight against corruption and organized crime and in the independence of the justice system.
Encouraged by successes and humbled by failures, 2026 should be the year of a joint effort to turn the European standard into a tangible reality in the life of every Albanian family.
National interest and dialogue should guide our actions to build a fairer and more prosperous society, because what unites us is stronger than any interest that divides us.
Therefore, on the eve of the New Year 2026, my first wish is for cooperation and coordination around nationwide goals and interests!
My warmest greetings and best wishes today to Albanians everywhere in Kosovo, North Macedonia, Montenegro, the Presevo Valley, the Arbëreshës and our Diaspora! You are an inseparable part of this nation and vital energy for our common future.
I have a special greeting tonight for all the doctors, nurses, members of the Armed Forces, law enforcement officers, firefighters and journalists, as well as all those who are on duty today and away from their families!
Our thoughts also go out to those who are spending this night in hospitals or in difficult conditions, away from the warmth of home.
May every Albanian family, from children to grandparents, have health, joy, and prosperity!
Above all, I wish for the New Year 2026 more trust in each other and more understanding, because Albania is our common home, our daily responsibility and the tomorrow that we build together!
With humility for the challenges we face, with faith in the values of work, solidarity and civic responsibility, and with determination to build our European future, I wish you from the bottom of my heart: Happy New Year 2026! May
